Flint
Battle Corps Rangers
Parts Used - 1990 Pathfinder arms, Major Storm waist, Hardball legs, casted head and torso from prototype BCR Flint, Night Viper rifle
By now, most Joe fans have heard about the doomed 1995 toy line. The Joes would've been looking great had they not been canned before the line was produced. Flint is a prime example of this. I'd previously done a custom of him using a Hardball head and a Repeater torso. I was happy with how that one turned out, and actually consider it to be one of my favorite customs. Then Project 95 got ahold of a prototype for this figure, and made castings for interested parties at cost. This go around I used the same legs and arms, but opted for a Major Storm waist rather than 1986 Roadblock, more because of what parts I had available than anything else. The prototype comes with Lamprey legs. However, the artwork for this figure shows him with legs that look nothing like Lamprey's, but rather more like Hardball's. I opted to go with Hardball's as they look better with the rest of the figure; Lamprey's give him too much of a lanky appearance. This figure turned out well, about as well as BCR Footloose, and is a testament to how nice the Battle Corps Rangers line would have been had they been produced. HEY HASBRO! If you're still sitting on these, we want 'em! Enough with the frickin' repaints! ::Ahem:: Anyhoo... I had to mix some white and grey paint to get the proper match. Added some cream for skin tone, some black for camoflage, and some glosscoat and I was done.
