Short Fuze - Stars &
Stripes
as he should have been in 1997
Parts Used - 1983 Short Fuze figure and accessories, Zap bazooka
Ah, what we could have had in 1997. Here you see what was initially planned for what
eventually became a Toys R Us exclusive. As with many of my customs using more
valuable parts, this figure is an amalgam of spare parts accumulated over the years,
including reissues of existing molds. No intact 1983 Short Fuze figures were harmed
in the creation of this movie figure. Yojoe.com identifies this figure as Zap.
Me, I think that it's Short Fuze, but nobody asked me. But I did make a
custom of Zap too, based on the figure from the back of the Stars and
Stripes box. So, I actually have a total of 9 Stars & Stripes - As They
Should Have Been figures. To confuse things slightly, the proto from the promotional
photo has Zap's bazooka and does not have the Short Fuze mortar launcher. So follows
this custom. But the actual release figure included both figure's accessories.
Confused yet?
